Harding Stanley Deans

Harding Stanley is geboren op 1 januari 1900 te Singapore als eerste kind en zoon van Annetta Maria (Marie) Kesler en Henry Deans. Hij trouwde Agnes Mary (Aggie) Clarke, dochter van Albert Walter Clarke en Agatha Josephine Laurence, in 1925. ZIj kregen geen kinderen. Harding Stanley was lieutenant bij de Royal Navy, toen op 13 februari 1942 zijn schip SS Redang in de straat van Banka tot zinken werd gebracht, waarbij hij kwam te overlijden. Harding Stanley was ook bokser, en vocht voor Loyfat House, St Andrews School.

 

Harding wordt genoemd in een stuk over de S.S. Redang waarvan hij bemanningslid is. Het schip wordt op 13 februari 1942  tot zinken gebracht door de Japanners. Het Muntok Peace museum museum schrijft hier een stuk over:

Reserve, aged 42 years, died on 13.2.42 , “SS. Redang”. Son of Harry and Marie

; he was made a temporary Lieutenant (E) in 1941; he had been a competitive boxer
 in Singapore and in 1940 was recorded as boxing for Loyfat House, St Andrews
School; his wife was called ‘Aggie’ in several newspaper reports of their attendance
at the large funerals of the time .( SFPMA 9.12.40).

Harding Stanley was also a boxer, fighting for Loyfat House, St Andrews School.
