Frans is geboren op 29 maart 1904 te Batavia als zoon van Petronella Elisabeth Kessler en Henri Leonard Albertus Koks. Rond zijn 20ste woonde hij in Nederland (waarschijnlijk om te studeren) en kwam als dienstplichtige van de lichting 1924 Amsterdam, terecht bij de 1e compagnie Veldhospitaalsoldaten. Hij huwde de in Batavia geboren Christina Wilhelmina Louisa Hartwig te Hilversum op 9 mei 1928. In 1933 verhuist het stel naar Nederlands Indië, waar Frans wordt ingelijfd als Officier van gezondheid der 2e klasse en geplaatst bij het militair veldhospitaal te Weltevreden. Intussen is het stel aan kinderen begonnen. Het gezin breidt uit met
- Anna Christina Elisabeth geboren 27 februari 1929
- Henri Louis August geboren op 22 oktober 1931
- Maria Christina geboren op 4 april 1934
Frans is overleden op 28 november 1947 te Surabaya als KNIL militair. Hij was Kapitein Dokter bij de 3e divisie Marechaussee Takengon in Atjeh. Toen hij werd opgepakt door de Japanners, woonde zijn moeder in de Salemba op nummer 13 te Batavia. Onder een fragment van de Japanse Interneringskaart:

Frans was born on March 29, 1904 in Batavia as the son to Petronella Elisabeth Kessler and Henri Leonard Albertus Koks. Around his 20th he lived in the Netherlands (probably to study) and by conscription of 1924 in Amsterdam , he was placed at the 1st company of Field Hospital Soldiers. He married Christina Wilhelmina Louisa Hartwig in Hilversum, born in Batavia, on 9 May 1928. In 1933 the couple moved to the Dutch East Indies, where Frans was incorporated as a 2nd class health officer and placed at the military field hospital in Weltevreden. In the meantime, the couple children were born. They had:
- Anna Christina Elisabeth born February 27, 1929
- Henri Louis August born October 22, 1931
- Maria Christina born on April 4, 1934
Frans died on November 28, 1947 in Surabaya as a KNIL soldier. He was Captain Doctor at the 3rd Division Marechaussee Takengon in Aceh. When he was arrested by the Japanese, his mother lived in the Salemba at number 13 in Batavia. Below is his Japanese registration card:
