Martinus Kessler was een zoon van John William Kesler en Sabena Basaroedim. Ik kom geen geboortes van kinderen tegen in krantenberichten. Wel kom ik in "Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië"" van 08-02-1918 onderstaand bericht tegen. En op basis van deze bevinding kan ik wel stellen dat Martinus een zoon was van John William Kesler. Volgens de regeringsalmanakken van nederlands Indie, is deze Martinus (Kessler met dubbel s) geboren op 4 maart 1896 te Batavia en was er sprake van erkenning. Dat wil dus zeggen dat de ouders niet getrouwd waren en dat was meestal zo met Inlandse moeders. De Prins Hendrikschool te Batavia was een 3 jarige HBS met handel school. Martinus overlijdt op 21 jarige leeftijd te Batavia aan een kortstondige ziekte.

I did come across the message below in "The news of the day for the Dutch East Indies"" of 08-02-1918. And based on this finding I can say that Martinus was a son of John William Kesler. According to the government almanacs of Dutch Indies, this Martinus (Kessler with double s) was born on March 4, 1896 in Batavia and there was a question of recognition, which means that the parents were not married and that was usually the case with native mothers. Martinus died at the age of 21 in Batavia from a short-term illness.
